As part of an educational visit, students had the opportunity to explore the fully operational, centralized laundry facility serving Taj Krishna, Taj Vivanta, and Taj Deccan. Guided by an experienced professional, the session offered a deep dive into the behind-the-scenes operations that keep a luxury hotel running seamlessly.
From high-capacity tumble dryers and commercial washing machines to specialized equipment like the suzy machine and flatbed press, students were introduced to the technology and precision involved in handling both hotel linen and guest garments. The facility operates 24/7 and processes an impressive 4–5 tonnes of laundry daily, with peak activity during the morning hours.
Beyond the machinery, the session also highlighted the role of various chemicals, workflow efficiency, and quality standards followed in hospitality operations. The use of both Indian and international brands further demonstrated the global standards maintained. This visit was not just informative, but truly enriching—bridging classroom learning with real- world industry practices and leaving students with valuable insights for their academic and professional journey.
