NITHM organised its First Distinguished Hospitality Lecture for the 2026–27 batch, featuring Chef Shankar Krishnamurthy, Distinguished Hospitality Speaker. The lecture focused on “Hospitality Careers, Leadership, Technology & the Future of Hospitality". Prof. V. Venkata Ramana, Director, NITHM, congratulated the students and highlighted the wide range of career and entrepreneurial opportunities emerging in the tourism and hospitality industry.
In his address, the Director highlighted the Institute’s vision and future development plans, with particular emphasis on introducing new academic and skill-development programmes, strengthening training initiatives and improving student facilities.
Chef Shankar Krishnamurthy shared valuable insights into culinary leadership, hospitality careers, entrepreneurship, technology, Artificial Intelligence and the future of the hospitality industry. He encouraged students to develop professional skills through hard work, perseverance, continuous learning and a strong focus on customer experience. He also emphasised the importance of entrepreneurship as an alternative and promising career pathway.
The lecture highlighted the complementary relationship between technology and human interaction in hospitality, reinforcing the importance of maintaining a strong human-centred approach while adopting emerging technologies. Chef Shankar Krishnamurthy was felicitated by Prof. V. Venkata Ramana, Director, NITHM.
