Hyderabad, 15 August 2025 – The National Institute of Tourism and Hospitality Management (NITHM) celebrated the 79th Independence Day with patriotic fervor and vibrant campus activities. The celebrations commenced with the hoisting of the National Flag by Prof. V. Venkata Ramana, Director of NITHM, followed by the playing of the National Anthem, in the presence of Dr. M.K. Ganesh, Principal; P.S. Sridhar, Assistant Registrar; K. Shivaiah, Finance Officer; Dr. Kiran Mayi Audina, Sports Coordinator; and Dr. Yadagiri Nirudi, Coordinator of Independence Day Celebrations, along with faculty, staff, and students.
In his inspiring address, Prof. Venkata Ramana reflected on the sacrifices of India’s freedom fighters and the significance of safeguarding the hard-earned independence. He spoke about the spirit of nationalism that binds the country together and encouraged everyone to uphold the values of unity, discipline, and responsibility. Highlighting NITHM’s role in national development, he reaffirmed the institute’s commitment to academic excellence, skill enhancement, and innovation in tourism and hospitality education.
As part of the celebrations, the Sports Meet 2025 Awards Ceremony was also held. Students and staff were recognized for their outstanding performances in volleyball, badminton, chess, carroms, and other events. Winners and runners-up received medals and certificates from the director, who commended their sportsmanship and team spirit.
The event concluded with the playing of the Telangana State Song, “Jaya Jaya Telangana”, followed by a festive gathering, marking the day as a memorable occasion filled with pride, unity, and celebration.
