The National Institute of Tourism and Hospitality Management (NITHM) commenced the Orientation Programme for the newly admitted students of BBA (Tourism & Hospitality), B.Sc. (Hospitality & Hotel Administration), and MBA (Tourism & Hospitality) for the Academic Year 2026–27 on 03 August 2026 at the Institute campus.
TThe inaugural session was conducted in the august presence of Dr. Niraj Gohil, Dean, Dr. M. K. Ganesh, Principal, and the faculty members of the Institute. The dignitaries welcomed the incoming students and highlighted the significance of academic excellence, professional ethics, discipline, innovation, and holistic development in preparing future professionals for the tourism and hospitality sector.
As part of the Orientation Programme, an expert lecture on "Overview of the Hospitality Industry: Growth and Future Prospects" was delivered by Mr. Arnab Gupta, General Manager, Taj Deccan, Hyderabad, who shared valuable insights into the evolving hospitality landscape, industry trends, and emerging career opportunities.
This was followed by an industry session on "Overview and Prospects of the Tourism Industry" by Mr. A. Praveen Reddy, Director, BAY-6 Hospitality Services Pvt. Ltd., Hyderabad, who elaborated on the growth trajectory of the tourism sector and the competencies expected from aspiring professionals.
The programme also featured an Alumni Interaction Session, during which distinguished alumni—Mr. Kiran Naik (BBA, 2021–2025), Mr. Anwar (MBA, 2010–2012), and Mr. Nitish (B.Sc. H&HA, 2016–2019)—shared their academic experiences, professional journeys, and practical insights with the newly admitted students, encouraging them to make effective use of the academic and professional opportunities available at the Institute.
The Orientation Programme is designed to acquaint students with the Institute's academic framework, institutional values, campus facilities, student support services, and career development opportunities, thereby facilitating a smooth transition into their academic life at NITHM.
