12 August 2026: As part of efforts to strengthen capacity building and skill development in rural areas, Prof. V. Venkata Ramana, Director, NITHM, participated in an Academic Advisory Meeting held at Government Junior College, Kollapur.

The meeting was attended by the Principals of Government Degree Colleges and the PG Centre, Kollapur. Detailed discussions were held on the implementation of capacity-building initiatives in Tourism and Hospitality across district centers. The proposed Telangana Rural Areas Capacity Building and Knowledge Building Centers (TRACK) initiative aims to provide orientation, skill development and short-term training opportunities to rural youth during the Academic Year 2026–27.

The initiative is proposed to be undertaken under the guidance of the Hon’ble Minister Sri Jupally Krishna Rao Garu, with a focus on enhancing employability, entrepreneurship and career opportunities for rural youth in the Tourism and Hospitality sector. NITHM has been requested to design and offer short-term skill-oriented courses in emerging areas of Tourism and Hospitality, in alignment with changing industry requirements and the aspirations of rural youth.

In addition, Palamuru University has sought the support of NITHM in offering short-term and elective courses in Tourism and Hospitality. Discussions are currently underway, and an MoU between Palamuru University and NITHM is expected to be formalised to facilitate joint academic, training and skill-development initiatives.
