Telangana Minister for Tourism & Culture Jupally Krishna Rao, TGTDC MD Valluru Kranthi, Prof. Venkata Ramana, Director NITHM, and other dignitaries addressed the curtain raiser for tourism events planned in Hyderabad in connection with the Sankranthi festival.
The Telangana Tourism Department announced that the International Kite & Sweet Festival, Hot Air Balloon Festival, and Drone Festival will be organised between January 13 and 18, 2026, to promote tourism and public engagement.
The International Kite & Sweet Festival will be held at Parade Grounds, Secunderabad, from January 13 to 15, featuring giant kites, night-flying shows, handloom and handicraft stalls, food courts, and an International Sweets Festival with national and international participation. The Hot Air Balloon Festival will take place from January 16 to 18, with morning sessions at selected outskirts of Hyderabad and evening night-glow displays at Parade Grounds, featuring 15 international-standard balloons.
The Drone Festival will be held at Gachibowli Stadium on January 13 and 14, showcasing LED-lit drones, FPV displays, drone soccer, and aerial presentations highlighting Telangana tourism destinations./p>
