The Tour Guides Training Programme commenced today at the National Institute of Tourism and Hospitality Management (NITHM) with 55 participants from across Telangana.
Organised in association with the Department of Tourism and Department of Heritage, Government of Telangana, the six-day programme aims to enhance participants’ knowledge, skills, communication, and professional capabilities in tour guiding.
The inaugural session was graced by Prof. Venkata Ramana Sir, Director, NITHM, and Prof. Arjun Rao Sir, Director, Department of Heritage, Telangana, along with officials, experts, faculty, coordinators, and participants.
Dr. Niraj Gohil, Dean & Programme Coordinator, welcomed the participants, while Dr. N. Yadagiri, Joint Programme Coordinator, coordinated the programme proceedings. Prof. Venkata Ramana Sir encouraged participants to be punctual, interactive, reflective, and professionally connected and to embrace the training as a joyful journey of learning and growth
The programme covers Telangana’s history, archaeology, heritage, culture, tourism, conservation, interpretation, communication, safety, technology, and professional tour guiding, supported by expert interactions, practical sessions, and field-based learning.
